Ron Surfield has more than 20 years of experience leading teams to solve clients’ business problems through the application of technology.
Ron most recently led the Digital Production & Operations practice for Ketchum, where his team provided strategic counsel, creative ideation and operational execution across the digital ecosystem including web, mobile, social, and local marketing. He is an expert on e-commerce and digital marketing technology, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events.
Ron also has held similar production & operations roles at Edelman (the world’s largest PR firm), Jagged Peak (a boutique e-commerce & logistics firm), and Turner Broadcasting (parent company of CNN, Cartoon Network and many other channels). Throughout his career, Ron has built and operated hundreds of websites, online stores, mobile apps, campaigns and other digital properties for world-class B2B and B2C brands including CNN, Louis Vuitton, Nespresso, NBA, NASCAR, TagHeuer, HP, and United Healthcare.
Ron was also previously a U.S. Naval Officer (Nuclear Power Specialty), serving as navigator on the USS Hawes and as #3 Engineroom Officer on the USS Enterprise. He has a B.S. degree in computer science from the United States Naval Academy, and an MBA from the Wharton School.
