Are You Ready to Become a Global Predictive Enterprise? Part 1 (panel)
“A company’s ability to predict business needs and incorporate advanced technologies to meet them will be increasingly important to enabling…future business success” according to Accenture.  “Key technologies allow business to capture, manage, access and analyze data at a level and speed never before possible, thus enabling agile and proactive response.”

“Predictability” as a core discipline is the next big business game changer that will clearly separate the leaders from the followers.  Opportunities abound for organizations to leverage “predictability” for market differentiation, revenue innovation, margin optimization and risk mitigation.

Judy Mod, president of futurewired has invited a group of CEOs for a fireside chat to share their perspectives on the “predictive enterprise” – how they are addressing it today and where they think this is heading.

UX and the Future of Work
How can modern UX design practices redefine ingrained business processes? We have an unprecedented opportunity to start from scratch and to reinvent nearly all of our existing practices and shift the focus from the need to the user. Imagine a world that lacks “process” as we know it. Imagine shedding legacy systems and time consuming practices that have been in place for 15+ years. The dream becomes a reality when you apply user centric design to the very core of your organization, thereby reducing friction at every point of interaction. The question is, can we implement these changes rapidly, without draining cycles from critical path tasks?

The Customer Lifecycle (panel)
IBM calls it “Predictive Customer Intelligence.”  Others call it Analytical CRM.  Segmentation, Targeting, Scoring - Attrition, Retention, Churn, etc. are the buzzwords.

Whatever you call it, being able to predict our customers perceptions, attitudes and behaviors is the holy grail.

In light of that, we are determined to capture every last piece of data that we can, across the entire prospect to buyer lifecycle.

But, figuring out what to do with it – how to make it relevant – how to make it actionable – is where a lot of companies are getting stuck.

We’ve invited a group of executives (marketing, business development, sales, etc.) to provide their insights and to share their experiences to help you get started or to clear the roadblocks on your path to success.

Experience Oriented Architecture
“Gut out the old technology systems and build new foundations from the ground up to keep up with modern user experience standards.” In the process of designing innovative and modern user experiences and interfaces, anyone working in the tech space has probably heard a recommendation like this. Many companies today have technology systems - data warehouses, legacy systems, cloud platforms and protocols - that are not completely ready for where user experience is heading. These systems are “heavy”, complicated, slow and merely outdated, limiting what UI/UX designers can do on the customer-facing layer. Users want faster, intuitive and personalized digital experiences. Completely overhauling such technology systems to make user experiences more up-to-date will too be risky. When it comes to building Service Oriented Architectures, a design-led approach and methodology is ideal.

Putting Data to Work in a UX-Driven Organization
When developing a new product or improving an existing one, how do you prioritize which ideas to pursue or which features to build first? Which things are necessary immediately, and which ones can wait until a future iteration? Rather than blindly guessing, it’s important to consider your users’ needs, desires, and current challenges. Sometimes that means conducting user interviews or surveys, and sometimes it means investigating usage patterns for answers. Once you have all that data, how do you separate signal from noise and transform insight into action? This session will highlight effective ways to combine your data—qualitative and quantitative—to develop better products.

I Quit. Next Steps to Take When Blinded by the Market
Show of hands: Who doesn’t want to buy into a hot bio-tech and see it take-off?

Didn’t think so.

The question is how are you going about finding them? What work are you prepared to do to find them?

This market has shown itself since 2007 and every flash crash and recession since that there are extreme volatile movements in the market that destroy capital at steeper degrees than ever before. The movement can lay to waste the best of long term plans.

For those more actively managing portfolios Trade Ideas brings the power of Big Data crunching into a consumable experience that makes the tough decisions as to what to buy as familiar as what to watch on TV. That's helpful because the right ideas come to you vs. hunting after them and finding them too late or giving up.

My goal is to show how an enormous amount of data processing can deliver a steady stream of good ideas. Trade Ideas.

Engaging Engineering in Design
Most of the time, designers can get along (and get stuff done) with other designers. We speak the same language. We share an understanding of the obsessive design process, and more often than not, a passion for fussy coffee. Designers also tend to work pretty well with copywriters — after-all, we understand that a good UI is oftentimes simply a reflection of good copywriting. Same for the folks on the marketing team: They, as we do, understand there's a receiving audience to our work.
However, working with engineering can sometimes be more challenging. This talk will discuss the challenges and solutions designers can employ when working with their engineering colleagues.

All Together Now: How UX Fuels and Engages Online Communities
What’s in an online community? It’s more than you think. From sharing knowledge to organizing events, “lurking” to influencing, everyone wants to be heard online — and no one wants to be left behind.

But somewhere between online communities and social networks, there’s always been a grey area that plagues UX designers. A misunderstanding of a community's united purpose, shared goals, and methods of sharing information can set the stage for communication nightmares, or even worse, abandonment. In this case study turned case story, we’ll analyze one of the country's largest volunteer groups to understand the unique UX challenges, risks, and opportunities to building active online communities that thrive, rather than fizzle out.

The Future of Digital Identities
This presentation will focus on planning for the impact of digital identities. Currently, the digital identity is very fragmented, which has created an "every company for itself, no trust" mentality. This is due to the instability around name changes, address changes and social security number error and misuse. What's more, there's a lack of identity standards and guidance.

The future of the identity will be shaped for millennials, More than 90 percent are connected to social media sites and smart phones and mobile sites. As a result, there's an increased need for federated identities allowing users to log-on to websites and applications, mobile devices and systems using their existing identity. The social login is the most common form for federal identity today. Amazon.com, PayPal and Verizon can also be identity providers.

Mobile, The New Frontier of SEO - Optimizing Mobile Websites & Usability
Google changed the game this spring. They announced an algorithm update before it went live. App indexing, mobile usability, and site speed are all critical for mobile SEO and an optimized digital presence. Yet, in a world where mobile devices outnumber computers 3-to-1, many businesses still treat mobile as a separate experience and runner-up to their "main" site.

This session will focus on case studies and real-world examples how search engines interpret and rank mobile websites. We will explore the variety of options for creating mobile website experiences, weigh the pros and cons of each, and address areas that businesses can optimize their sites to increase traffic and revenue from mobile devices.

What Hinduism Teaches Us About Innovation
As key drivers in the market economy, entrepreneurial activity and creatively destructive technologies add new products, ideas, and innovation while destroying the usefulness and value of a now defunct process or technology.

"Trim?rti" is a concept in Hinduism that captures this simplest form of innovation "in which the cosmic functions of creation, maintenance, and destruction are personified by the forms of Brahma the creator, Vishnu the maintainer or preserver and Shiva the destroyer or transformer.” Most industries, businesses, and products experience these cycles as they are created, matured, and in many cases are destroyed by an innovation.
